The first military governor of Kwara, Brig-Gen David Bamigboye (rtd) is dead.

He was aged 78.

Former military administrator of Bauchi and Osun states and a younger brother of the deceased, Col. Theophilus Bamigboye (rtd) confirmed the death of his elder brother

He said the late military governor died on Friday after a brief illness in Lagos.

The late Bamigboye was born December 7th, 1940, and was the military governor of Kwara between May 1967 and July 1975.

He was credited with establishing the Kwara State Polytechnic in 1972 and other monumental edifices in the state.
