While Zimbabweans await the result of the first election since Robert Mugabe’s ouster, the electoral body has revealed that a voter died on the queue.

According to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission chairperson, Priscilla Chigumba, during a media briefing on Monday night, the woman, who had come out to vote died at a polling unit in Bulilima, reports

“The commission is saddened to learn of an unfortunate incident in Bulilima where a female voter collapsed and died at a polling station. We want to express our deepest condolences to the family of the now deceased,” she said.

The result of the election is expected to be released at 3pm on Tuesday.
