The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, on Sunday went to a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God to celebrate his victory at the poll.
The Independent National Electoral Commission had around 3.52pm declared Ortom as the winner of the state governorship election.
As soon as INEC declared the governor winner of the election, Ortom suspended other activities to go to the RCCG parish along Gboko Road.
The governor along with members of his executive went to the church for thanksgiving.
Ortom called all residents of Benue State to join him to develop the state.
He said he would set up a post-election reconciliation committee to bring together everybody in the state.
He dedicated his electoral victory to God and the Benue people.
He said, “We promise to provide better governance; our second term will be better than the first term. We have learnt lessons from past events.
“We have also rededicated this state to God. Benue people will enjoy prosperity if we rely and trust in God.”
