President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a former Inspector-General of Police, Musiliu Smith, as the Chairman of the Police Service Commission.
Smith, representing the South-West on the board, is to replace former IGP, Mike Okiro.
The President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, read Buhari’s letter seeking legislative confirmation of the appointment as well as five others.
The full-time commissioners-nominee are Justice Clara Bata Ogunbiyi (North-East) and Lawal Bawa, a retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police (North-West).
Members-nominee are Muhammad Najatu (North-West), Braimoh Adogame Austin (South-South), Tommy Mom (North-Central), and Dr. Nkemka Osimiri Jombo-Ofo (South-East)
